Incident response

Incident teams contain and resolve a specific operational or technical event.

Crisis management

Crisis leadership handles strategic decisions, reputation, priorities and organization-wide consequences.

Business continuity

Continuity teams sustain or restore priority activities while normal arrangements are impaired.

Emergency response

Life safety and emergency procedures have their own authority and should not be replaced by a business continuity document.

Business continuity is organization-specific. Recovery priorities, legal duties, safety requirements, contracts, insurance terms and technical recovery methods should be validated by the responsible people in the organization.
