Facilities and utility dependencies

Power, water, heating/cooling, access control, elevators, fuel, communications and landlord services can determine whether a workplace is usable.

Service dependency

Map each utility to the activity it supports rather than maintaining a generic building checklist.

Duration

Short utility interruptions may be tolerated while longer events require relocation or work suspension.

Shared infrastructure

A building generator or second internet provider may still depend on common rooms, risers or local infrastructure.

Safety first

Continuity plans do not override evacuation, fire, electrical or other life-safety procedures.

Business continuity is organization-specific. Recovery priorities, legal duties, safety requirements, contracts, insurance terms and technical recovery methods should be validated by the responsible people in the organization.
